A CSGA-recognized Plant Breeder is engaged in the selection and development of varieties and responsible for maintaining the genetic identity and purity of varieties. In Canada, only CSGA-recognized Plant Breeders, who have gone through a peer-reviewed professional recognition process, can validate the variety descriptions required for variety registration. The following program will help you understand the CSGA Plant Breeder recognition process, the requirements for variety registration and Breeder seed certification and recognized Plant Breeders’ responsibilities.
